From Mrs. Snyder…

We are in the final stretch! How did this happen? Your children are finding it increasingly hard to focus and learn but we are doing our creative best to keep them leaning as long as possible. We understand they need new project and different ideas to keep them focused.
As you know, the D#300 School Board voted last week to keep busing for parochial schools. Many thanks to all of you who helped in so many ways. Mrs. Johnson and I will have a meeting with D#300 administration. We will do all in our power to work with the D#300 for the good and safety of our students. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
The Used Uniform Sale is coming up on Monday, May 10th from 2:00-3:30. We have a new system for “exchanging” uniforms and some new uniform guidelines. Please keep the following in mind when buying uniforms and shoes for next year:

  • Beginning in the 2010-11 school year, all uniform jumper and skirt lengths must be no more than 1” above the middle of the knee. We understand students grow during the year and will take that into consideration.
  • Skorts will no longer be sold. If you currently own skorts or get some at the exchange, they must be no more than one inch above the knee.
  • Shoes must be enclosed. No high tops are allowed.

Please keep in mind that it is illegal to talk on cell phones in school zones. Several parents drive through drop off and pick up on cell phones. It is not safe for our children!
When picking up your children in the afternoon, do not block the lane at the south end of the Ministry Center. Please park in designated areas. Parking in that area blocks buses and cars from entering the parking lot causing a safety hazard.
Additionally, we occasionally do not have a second teacher at the west end of the church parking lot near the rectory driveway. This does not mean cars may leave early or drive up into the lot while students are dismissing. If the teacher on duty asks you to stop, please do so. Children are much more distracted at this time of the year and may not see a moving car. Our dismissal routine goes very quickly. Please be patient.

Donuts with Dad
Donuts with Dad was a great success. Thank you to all the Dads who spent time with their children and share some doughnuts and juice. We hope to see all of you again next year!

A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers!!!!!!!
St. Margaret Mary has been blessed with some many wonderful volunteers and the Home and School Association wants to recognize you! This month we are highlighting volunteers who have spent countless hours helping our students, teachers and families:

Dawn Dedic: Dawn has been the mastermind behind decorations for school dances for the past 3 years. She has done an amazing job and we will miss her!

Amy Ahler: She is always willing to help with recess hours.  It definitely not always a fun job depending upon weather, but she is willing to help.

Vonn Schmidt: She is often at our school doing something; Meet the Masters, teacher's aide, May Crowning and Brunch and the Mentor program. Her time at school is appreciated!

Thank you so much Hot Lunch Volunteers! We counted and served 28,560 school lunches this year. Thank you so much for all of your dedication and hard work. Without all of you, our hot lunch program would not be possible. See you next year!
